Keep Walking With Wisdom

Today in Proverbs 4 we see the last of three assurances we can enjoy as we walk on the path of Wisdom. If you'll remember, we discovered in Proverbs 2 how Wisdom protects our path and in Proverbs 3 how Wisdom directs our path.

Our third assurance as we keep walking with Wisdom is Wisdom perfects our path.

Proverbs Summer Bible Study

But the path of the just is like the shining sun,
that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
~Proverbs 4:18

The path of Wisdom that we are walking on leads us to Heaven. We'll never attain perfection this side of Heaven, and our path may not always be an easy one, but we can trust God's plan for each of us and as the Psalmist said in Psalm 138:8, "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me".

As we keep walking with Wisdom, we see in Proverbs 4 three keys to staying on the path of Wisdom.

1. We must know God's Word (verses 1-9).
2. We must trust God's providence (verses 10-19).
3. We must obey God's will (verses 20-27).

One step at a time, day by day is the walk we are taking in this journey of life. Keep walking with Wisdom until the promise of Heaven is received.

Walking in His Grace,
Laurie

  1. I appreciate your three points, Laurie. As I considered them, it occurs to me that each one builds on the one prior. It's very difficult to trust a God with whom we're unfamiliar, and so knowing His Word equips us to trust His providence. And trusting Him leads to obedience. I'm glad you linked up with us at Grace & Truth!
