Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life,
but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.
~Proverbs 10:17
Those who walk on the path to life listen
to the instruction of God. Those who reject God’s instruction not only lead
themselves away from God, but influence others to reject God’s instruction too.
I want to positively influence others with the life I live for Jesus. I want to be able to speak with wisdom when friends come to me needing help with their problems or needing comfort during the sorrows of their life. More than anything, I want to take the instruction I've received from God during my quiet time in the Word of God and speak life into the heart of others and point them to the One Who can meet every need in their life.
We have to be careful who we go to in order to receive instruction. Is the person you are going to pointing you to the Word of God and to Jesus Christ?
We should be eager to receive the instruction of God because it leads to eternal life with God. God's instruction is found in His Holy Word - the Bible - and keeps us on the right path. We should pray for others who have rejected the truth of God for the lies of Satan and for those they are leading astray by their influence.
Having a teachable spirit is something we all should possess. Walking in obedience to God's instruction can be a powerful witness to others. It will keep us on the path to eternal life with God, and hopefully influence others to join us on the path to eternal life.

This is sound advice. We do need to be careful as Christians with who we go to for advice, and if it is coming from a Biblical perspective. I think it is wonderful you are Blogging through the Bible. I will have to try to join! Thanks for sharing on #SocialButterflySunday and hope you will link up again this Sunday :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, "Raising Samuels", for hosting the link-up and stopping by to comment. :)
DeleteImportant truth here. Sometimes we listen to bad advice because it's what we want to hear. I learned this difficult lesson years ago. The advice sounded good because I wanted it to. I'm always thankful for God's grace and loving forgiveness. Thanks so much for adding this to Blessing Counters Link Party.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Deb!
DeleteI think you hit the nail on the head..."Sometimes we listen to bad advice because it's what we want to hear." I pray that we will always remember to take any advice we receive and hold it up to the light of God's Word. If we find it doesn't agree with what God says, hopefully we will walk in obedience to what God says.
